A few photographers are having a meeting of the minds at my studio, and the studio down the road from me. They are coming from all over! OH, MI, PA, MO, WV and IN!
I am teaching a class on Saturday January 23th, and possibly one on Sunday January 24th. (if we can find a newborn!)

For the Saturday class this is what I am looking for:
A 6-8 month old that can sit well and can't crawl. This will be for a few shots with clothes of your choice (I might make a few suggestions), and a few nekkid shots. The studio will be warm. This shoot would be at 10:00am and last about 45 minutes. This will be a complimentary session and you will receive 5-10 images from the session on a disc with a reprint release. You will also be able to order prints at a discounted rate.A well behaved, not shy toddler/preschooler. This can be a boy or a girl, with siblings or without. Clothing suggestions will be made. This shoot will be at 10:45am and last between 30-45 minutes. This will be a complimentary session and you will receive 5-10 images on a disc with a reprint release. You will also be able to order prints at a discounted rate.

We are also looking for a Bride (alone) or a Bride and Groom couple for a class on Saturday after lunch (about 1:00). Location to be announced (it will be in Millersburg, but not sure which church). If you are getting married or just got married, this is a perfect way to get some nice shots of you in your dress. This will take place at a church and there will be a class about posing you and there will be about 20 photographers shooting you....with their cameras!! For your time and trouble you will receive a disc of about 5-10 images from each photographer. You will receive a print release for these images.
For Sunday we are looking for:
A newborn that is less than 10 days old. Yes, I realize that means that he/she hasn't been born yet! But if you or someone you know is due around January 14-20 please contact me! The newer they are the better they sleep, and the better the session will go!
This will be for a class on how to pose and light and photograph a newborn. I will be teaching and shooting. And other photographers will be shooting as well. This will be a long session and will go from about 9:30-11:30am on Sunday January 24th.
With your complimentary session you will also receive 25 of my beautifully designed announcements (4x8 size). You will also be able to order prints at a discounted rate.

If you would like to be considered for one of these sessions, please send me your name, the names and ages of the children, and a short description of the children. If you are interested in being a bridal model, send your name, and a photo please.

Look-alikes!

I met Baby G when he came for his newborn session in May 2008. His sister Baby A was born just before Christmas and I was so surprised at how much they looked alike!
Here are a few example....
I have taken photos of lots of brothers and sisters but I think that these two look more alike than any of them!
I was so happy to meet Miss A, and her photos will be ready soon!

I want to thank all of my wonderful customers for making 2009 a great year!
In case you haven't heard we had a big change here this year! In September we had our old barn torn down and we built a new studio! We moved in the first of December and we are loving it! It is so spacious! We have two shooting areas, a sitting area, a storage room, an office, a bathroom and a HD projector for watching TV, DVD's, and we can even play the Wii on it! It has gotten lots of use this winter!

I have been too busy to keep up with the blog, and for that I apologize! Here are some of the sessions I did this Holiday season....

Just finishing up this session, and I wanted to share a couple of edits. They looked like they were from back in time, so I aged and textured the photo a bit.

Well, sometimes I have to make exceptions! I met Ariel when she was 4 and we moved into the house behind her house. Her daddy needed some one to watch her in the mornings before she would go to pre-school, and since he left for work at 6am, he wondered if I could do it.
Every morning her daddy would carry her over and put her on our couch and cover her up and she would go back to sleep for a few hours. I then would get her up and give her breakfast and get her on the bus.
The next year she went to Kindergarten and she still needed a place to stay, so I continued to keep her. She slept on our couch until she was in the 6th grade!
Ariel is also on the soccer team with our Olivia and she gave her many rides back and forth to practices and games. So we owe her a lot!

About 6 weeks ago, just before he turned 18 months old, this little guy was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. It is so very terrible. I talked to his mama on Friday night and she said that he only had days left to live. Immediately after I got off of the phone I knew that I had to do something for this family. I took Trinnen's newborn and his 6 month photos, so I got busy designing two books with the photos from both of those sessions. I worked on them all night (literally...I was up until 5am...). It took me about 10 hours to get them both finished and sent to print. I then contacted my print lab and asked them to rush the printing so that I could have it for them ASAP.
As many of you know, Trinnen passed away yesterday afternoon surrounded by his family.
Cancer is a terrible disease, and this is an awful situation. Please pray for this young family during this difficult time.

The books will *hopefully* be delivered tomorrow and we will be taking them along with me to his calling hours tomorrow afternoon.

Baby J is a big boy now!

I first met Mr Jackson when he was in his mama's belly!

Then I got to see him a few weeks later when he was born....He was a good sleeper!
Then he came at 4 months! So smiley!

Now he is a big boy! He is two, and he did a great job!
When he first got here he wasn't too sure about sitting for photos, so we played with some farm animals, and took photos of the horses, and cows and a ball or two....then he saw that it was fun and he sat so nicely!

What a handsome little guy!

I first saw Miss M in October 2006! Look how cute she was!

This is one of my favorites from her session! She was so ticked off at me!
Now Miss M is THREE! She is so big!

I love when she crinkles up her nose when she smiles!
I just love three year olds! When I taught preschool I was the three year old teacher and I loved every one of them! It is such a great age!

This is C & C! I first met Charlie soon after I opened my studio.And here he is when he was 2! This time he brought along his baby sister!Here is Miss C at about one or two months old. Such a sweet face!
Now he is a big four year old! He was in a 'sticking out the tongue' mood this day!There is his big onery smile!So serious Miss Chanelle!I love this one!Whew! It was hard work to get them to sit still and both looking at me!!TTFN! Martha

I have been busy this weekend with the toy store shoot. I set up on Thursday, shot there on Friday and Saturday, then I have had a migraine all day today. I hope to use this week to catch up on editing and ordering.

Tiny Baby....Miss T

I bought this baby carriage at a local antiques shop, and I have been thinking and wondering about how to use it. I decided to use it with Little Miss T. She is only 5 pounds, so I thought that putting her in a doll carriage was the perfect way to show how small she is!

Three pretty girls

I had these three beautiful girls in my studio last week.
First, this was Miss R at one year old, with cake all over her face! I love her tongue sticking out!And now she is a big girl! Miss R just turned three! Doesn't she have the best smiley eyes?

And her is her sister Miss N, at age 2!
And now look at her! She is a beautiful 4 year old now!

Now for the biggest sister, Miss A. She is gorgeous! And the camera loved her!

Now you don't even want to know how had I had to work for this group shot! If the little one was looking and smiling, then the middle one was looking elsewhere....if the middle one was looking and smiling, then the little one was being a goof! I did get to nice group shots, and this is one that I love!

Kids Collection is hosting Mini Christmas Sessions!

Here is some additional info:
*This will be held at the Kids Collection in Walnut Creek.
*I am taking appointments on Friday October 2nd, 10:00am - 7:00pm, and Saturday October 3rd, 10:00am-5:00pm.
*They will be scheduled on the half hours.
*If you are late for your appointment, it will cut into your time. Please be a few minutes early for your session as a courtesy to others. You can shop while you wait!
*We will start with the most important photo grouping, and then if there is time I will shoot individual shots of each child.
*The 40.00 fee is due at the time of the sitting. Cash or Checks only, please.
* I will have a few Christmas-y props available: Ornaments, sleds, Santa hats, etc.
*No outfit changes
*There will be three backdrop choices.....White, and Brown marble, and black. You may only choose one for the whole session.
*7-10 days after your session, you will have a private online gallery with 8-10 proofs, and 5 Christmas cards to choose from.
*The 20 cards that come with your package must all be the same card
*You may order additional cards, and prints at a discounted rate....discount is good for two weeks.

The Barn is Down!

Last Saturday we had a crew come in and tear down our barn! We are getting ready to build a Photography Studio and I am so excited! I grew out of my little upstairs studio a couple of years ago! But good things come to those who wait, and we have waited and saved money to make my dreams come true!

Time goes by so fast! Especially with my babies that are on my "Baby's first year" plan. It seem like Baby C was just a smiley 3 month old! Now he is sitting, and crawling, and still very smiley!

Today is my in-laws, Ward and Judy Stutzman's 50th wedding anniversay! Here is the front of their invitation to their party, and one of their wedding photos on the front.This is after approximately 12 years of marriage! They were fruitful and multiplied! I can't believe how much our son looks like Kurt in this photo! This is right around the 25 year mark!

And here they are today! 50 years together and still going stong!
