Editing a wedding

I am working on a wedding that I had two weeks ago. A lot of people think that once the wedding day ends, that my is done......WRONG! Shooting only accounts for about ¼ of the total amount of time that I will spend on a wedding.

Once I get home the photos all need to be downloaded to my hard drive, then I separate them into categories. IE: getting ready, pre ceremony pictures, ceremony, formals, reception. I then go through the pictures one at a time. And I take an average of 800 pictures at a typical wedding, so going through them is quite a task! So once I have them open, I decide to keep it or trash it. If I keep it then I usually need to edit it a bit. I adjust the color, and lighten it a bit, and then close it. I also turn some of them B&W, or sepia for an artistic twist.

I spend about 1-2 minutes on each picture. So that equals about 20 hours just for the editing! Then I upload the pictures to the printer (that takes a while!) and pick and choose the photos for each page of the proof book. Then I order it and it gets delivered within a week!

Whew! Weddings are a lot of work!

Here is a peek of J&A, the wedding I am working on right now.
